BOB LANOIS DIRECTOR
Bob has had the opportunity to express himself across a diverse body of interpretive work. Bob has shot film for Wim Wenders music documentary featuring Willie Nelson's Teatro, he has also directed several music videos including Grace Too and Greasy Jungle for The Tragically Hip as well as the music video and a music documentary Building The Wrecking Ball for Emmylou Harris. In the past he has been commissioned to direct social projects such as Concerts for a Landmine Free World for The Vietnam Vets of America Foundation. Bob has a keen sense of experimentation and he uses that talent effectively in his work. Through Lanois signature improvisational techniques he achieves an organic beauty that is both unique and insightful.
Musically he has produced and collaborated with Tom Wilson on The Shack Recordings, recorded music for Sylvia Tyson, the late Willie P Bennet, The Silver Hearts, Simply Saucer, and Bruce Cockburn, to name a few. The Ryan Furlong directed short film The Vampire, based on Lanois song of the same name, has received extensive play on Bravo!, on the film festival circuit, and most recently distributed to an international audience. Currently Lanois is in the process of writing and recording his second album. Bob Lanois is available through Fenian Films for select project.
